Chapter 24 A Smart Liar, An Angry Husband

• Blake eyed us both in both anger and unconcealed suspicion. "You said you wanted to use the bathroom. Not come to the kitchen to meet my wife."
• I was not the one he was directing those words to but I suddenly felt as though he was talking to me. I shivered from how cold his words were. I was in trouble. Big trouble.
• "I did go to the bathroom, but you know things took a wild turn and I didn't just pee." He chuckled as though he was narrating a very funny event to a close friend. Only the close friend in this context was glaring heatedly at him. "I had to go, you know what I mean. That took some time and as soon as I was done, got thirsty and remembered your wife here has gone to the kitchen and that's the only place to find water."
