Chapter 10 Nine
- Draeven didn't spare her another glance as he strode toward the exit, the guards forcing both Elanthia and Avelyn to follow. Her pulse pounded wildly, her breath coming in frantic bursts as she was pulled from the only place she had come to know in this unfamiliar world.
- The guards shoved them into a carriage with no concern for their well-being. Avelyn stumbled, landing hard on her knees against the wooden floor. Quickly, she pushed herself up, moving to help Elanthia. They settled into their seats across from Draeven, who sat silently, his expression unreadable as he watched them.
- His mismatched eyes—one dark, the other an icy blue—fixed intently on Elanthia. She fidgeted under his piercing gaze, her hands clutching her gown as though the fabric could shield her from him.
