- I had been running for hours and had finally paused to catch some breath. I badly needed rest before I lost my breath. I had been running out of fear, knowing my life would be terrible if, in some way, somehow, Bane found me.
- Not just for Jake's threat, but that of Bane's would be more terrible. He would conclude I lied and tricked him.
