• Tears found their way down my cheeks. I felt hostility towards the fact that I wasn't only a burden to Kai but I had ended up putting his life in danger. I glanced at my hands which were scorched with Kai's blood. Lisa had been taken inside to clean her injuries with disinfectant and clinical cleaning kits while I waited in the waiting room to be taken care of afterward, since my injury wasn't as severe as hers.
