Chapter 29
- I walked out of the room with Dennis trailing behind me, my pulse still a little too fast. I didn’t wait for him to speak. My fingers fumbled over the locks, twisting and snapping them open one after another until the heavy front door swung wide.
- Two men stood in the doorway.
- The first had the unmistakable look of a vampire light blond hair that gleamed like glass under the porch light, eyes the color of a calm ocean, and skin so pale it looked almost translucent. The second, Mr. Samuel, had brown hair swept neatly to the side and hazel eyes that always seemed to weigh people before deciding what to think of them.
