- “Sure it won’t,” I replied, trying to sound casual, but there was a tremor beneath my words.
- In an instant, his expression shifted still playful, but darker now. He moved closer, slow and deliberate, until his body hovered over mine. His hands pressed into the mattress on either side of me, caging me in.
- “Dennis,” I said, my voice tightening. “What are you doing? I said no.”
