Chapter 30 You Should Go
- [Amara’s POV]
- “Don’t move, Amara. Just let me hold you a bit longer. After that, I won’t disturb you again if that is what you wanted. Just don’t push me away now. I missed you so much. I searched for you everywhere, but I couldn’t find you. I combed the coven and every inch of the enchanted forest, but you weren’t here. You weren’t in the pack either. I found your room in the packhouse and stayed there for three days and three nights, but you never showed up. Why did you hide from me? Where did you go? It almost made me mad.”
- I allowed him to lament. I listened to every word he said, digested it, processed it, and let it wash away my anger. I didn’t wriggle out of his arms. Instead, I stayed in his embrace until my breathing returned to normal. I can’t deny that I missed him, too, but I couldn’t possibly admit it in front of him. He’s got Jacobi now. She’s carrying his child, and I don’t want to be a third wheel in their relationship. That is, if a relationship even exists.
