• She might be the light to anybody’s darkest night, but the Lexi that I had met that night was a girl that had more secrets to her past than I as the great Lucas Lucero could ever hold. It might have been the desire to get lost in only her body that drew me at first, but the moment that I took her off the dance floor, there was an undeniable connection. Not only did I feel it, but every fiber of the man I was were fighting against these feelings that I held in the own depths of my darkness for only her.
• Never did I question who she was. Not once did I want to know anything about her past, but that all changed that night when she came back with a bruise under her eye. Though she tried to lay every excuse in the book on me as an explanation, from the fear in her eyes I knew that it was the work of a man that had no respect for a woman.
