Chapter 4 We Need To Find Her!
- CASPIAN
- Kane had his teeth logged in my arm. I snapped my teeth at his neck and got a taste of his blood on my tongue.
- “You win,” I mind-linked him, he pulled out his teeth falling me limp onto the ground.
- “Why would you do that? You just made us look weak in the eyes of the enemy,” my Lycan Xavier beckoned.
- “You thought you could win against a lycan Alpha, let's be real brother. You were never up for the challenge of being a leader,” Kane tainted with triumph dripping from his words.
- I shift back to my human form and let the soft leaves of the grass envelope me.
- “You’re so full of yourself as usual, I could just as easily win but I’m not interested in the bloodshed,” I murmured.
- Kane and I were made opposites, he acts cool and collected whereas I dwell in the rage and control my Lycan holds.
- We share the same feelings, the same way we are connected as brothers, our wolves are too.
- “That baby can’t be the heir and you know it, so why the sudden interest,” I grinned, tugging at the actual concern.
- “You don't have an idea of what you’re talking about,” he rolled his eyes at me before walking back to the mansion.
- I see all my men chained to one another. Bruised and battered, I caught sight of Paco being used as a punching bag begging for forgiveness.
- “You should've known better than to drag these men into betraying me,” Kane groaned.
- Kane is fond of caring for his pack members, He orders respect and allegiance in exchange for the care and protection he provides them.
- So punishing his men hurts him more than it hurts them.
- He’s weak for doing that, I show the truth about the immense power I hold inside.
- They joined me knowing how powerful I am and the greatness I can bring them. We wouldn't be hiding among the humans anymore, we’d hold more of a stance than just a silent mafia.
- “We need to see her, she can’t raise that child alone,” he pondered, trudging back to the lounge room we left her in.
- “Good luck getting her to follow you, I saw the fear in her eyes after we shifted,” I chuckled.
- “She’s also our mate, we can’t let him take her away,” Xavier growled.
- I still remember how she looked at me with those brown Bambi eyes and the soft moan she released relaxing into my touch. She smelled of lavender and strawberries.
- SNAP out of it.
- I wait for Kane to answer but he walks past me trudging towards the room.
- We walk in and find it empty. Shards of glass are scattered everywhere, and the wooden chair Kane smashed is stacked beneath the high window.
- “She escaped,” I deadpanned, watching Kane sniff out any scent.
- “You can’t smell her, can you? While I can’t get rid of her scent,” I said in annoyance.
- “Something is wrong, I couldn’t even feel the Alpha bond with my child,” I furrowed my eyebrows, and true to his word he should’ve known already about the pregnancy.
- As Lycans, we have a deeper connection with our mates and breed offspring than normal wolves.
- I can’t wrap my head around what's happening.
- “We have to go look for her,” Kane ordered, ready to call someone for assistance.
- “You’re kidding right,” I chuckled, pulling the object out from his hand.
- I smashed it with one tight squeeze watching it crumble to the ground. Kane shoves me and my head slams against the oak wood floor.
- “We don’t need anyone else knowing about this pregnancy, you’ll be a walking target,” I groaned.
- “You mean ‘she’d’ be a walking target,” Xavier smirked.
- As much as I want to deny it, we have a connection. I have a stronger bond towards her than she does with me because of my wolf side. She's human and yet I can’t shake off this itch to cuddle her.
- It’s disgusting.
- “Shut up, you know I can’t let her get harmed, because I can feel it too,” I warned Xavier.
- “She’s carrying my baby,” Kane barked, pulling my attention back. “Besides, I was planning to call Vera,” he huffed.
- “You didn’t care about her seconds ago when you were fucking that whore,” I spat suddenly I felt a sting at the side of my cheek.
- Kane’s eyes were blazing red and his fist was dripping with blood. My blood I suppose, I wince from the burning sensation before it heals.
- “We’re going to meet Vera to find her,” He demanded, storming out of the room and slamming the door behind him.
- ~~~
- We stopped the car at the family house and Kane got down leaving me in the car alone to find our sister.
- “He seems to forget this isn’t our home anymore,” I sighed, jumping down from the car before walking into the villa.
- “Kanyyyy, I missed you so much. Where is she? I heard you found your mate, her name’s Jessica right?” Vera beamed.
- I could hear her squeals from the car loft. She jumped with joy at the presence of Kane till her eyes landed on me.
- The grin she had plastered from ear to ear dropped to one of a nasty scowl.
- “Why’s he here? I don’t want to deal with any of his selfish conceited plans, he needs to get out,” she yells, pushing past Kane headed to the kitchen.
- “You don’t need to be a baby about this,” I rolled my eyes at her, “I’m as confused as you are as to what help you can give us,”
- “We need to find Vienna,” Kane blurted, he softened his eyes practically begging her for help.
- “Vienna?? The little bitch that managed to squeeze her way into marrying you. Hell no, stick to Jessica, I like her,” she rambled.
- “We’re your brothers and I'm asking for a favor,” Kane asked nicely but I was ready to act otherwise.
- “Fine, I know a witch you can meet for this,” she sighed, “but I want something in exchange,”
- “What’s that?” we asked in unison.
- “The lease to the Family winery,”
