Chapter 3 The Hopkin Family Duo

  • Just as Jaymore opened his eyes, a fierce light burst forth.
  • He got up, cracking noises coming from within him.
  • With a clench of his fist, he felt a surge of power gathering inside it. Then he gazed at the boulder in the distance and delivered a powerful punch.
  • Bang!
  • The boulder was instantly shattered into pieces.
  • Jaymore owed his rapid ascent from a helper to Estren's God of War in a matter of years to the Celestial Dragon Technique.
  • Since he started cultivating, he gradually became an unrivaled opponent at the border, killing all the enemies that stood in his way.
  • At the same time, an elderly man and a young woman ascended to the summit of Cloudcairn Mountain.
  • The young woman, who seemed to be around twenty years old, was strikingly beautiful and had a tall stature.
  • The elderly man, on the other hand, wore a vest and dress pants, which gave him a sense of authority.
  • Upon reaching the peak, the grandfather-granddaughter duo immediately spotted Jaymore amidst his cultivation.
  • The young woman chastised Jaymore after spotting him, "Kid, this is the peak of Cloudcairn Mountain. How did you get up here?"
  • The peak of Cloudcairn Mountain was private property and off-limits to outsiders.
  • Jaymore turned to look at the young woman, responding nonchalantly, "I can come and go as I please. What's it to you?"
  • "You… This is absurd! You must not be up to anything good sneaking up here. I'm going to teach you a lesson!" the young woman exclaimed, rushing toward Jaymore.
  • Her speed was astonishingly fast as she reached Jaymore in the blink of an eye.
  • Observing the incoming attack, Jaymore narrowed his eyes.
  • With his keen eyesight, he immediately concluded that the young woman was a martial artist.
  • In the current era, cultivators were nearly extinct, leaving behind martial artists from various sects.
  • But a martial artist's skills were further divided into four realms—Postcelestial, Precelestial, Grandmaster, and Great-Grandmaster.
  • The young woman before him was a first-stage Postcelestial martial artist.
  • To an ordinary person, she would be a formidable opponent, but to Jaymore, she was an easy kill.
  • Watching as the young woman charged toward him, Jaymore swiftly threw a punch.
  • "Watch out!" the elderly man warned his granddaughter. But it was too late.
  • There was a loud impact.
  • Boom!
  • Immediately, the young woman was sent flying and crashed onto the ground.
  • The elderly man rushed to her aid and was relieved to find her unharmed. With that, the elderly man instantly changed his opinion against Jaymore. He didn't expect the latter to be so strong.
  • "My name is Tario Hopkin. Thank you for sparing her," he expressed his gratitude.
  • The experienced Tario naturally realized that Jaymore could have easily killed his granddaughter. But right at the last moment, he held back and only sent her flying.
  • When Malinda Hopkin heard her grandfather's words, she looked up with disbelief written all over her face.
  • As a first-stage Postcelestial martial artist, she was no expert, but she wasn't easy to defeat either.
  • However, the man before her had effortlessly knocked her away with a single blow. Who is this guy?
  • Jaymore rebuked, "You should educate your granddaughter better. If she offends me again, I can't guarantee that I'll let her go again."
  • "Of course." Tario nodded, then asked, "You have strong skills. May I know your name?"
  • Jaymore replied, "Jaymore Reed."
  • "Jaymore Reed?" Upon hearing the name, Tario frowned, as he couldn't recall ever hearing such a name in Walstino.
  • Just then, Malinda suddenly spoke up. "Wait, are you the Moore Family's live-in son-in-law?"
  • Intrigued, Tario inquired, "Malinda, do you know who he is?"
  • Malinda explained, "Grandpa, don't you remember? Several years ago, the patriarch of the Moore Family suddenly married off his granddaughter, the Belle of Walstino, Chelsea Moore, to a wanderer."
