• I sighed as I turned restlessly in my bed. It was almost six in the morning, and I had gotten little to almost no sleep the previous night. Resentment filled me as I sat up on the bed, propping up pillows so I could rest my back on them.
• Adrian had shocked me the previous night when after our toe curling kisses outside, he had simply walked me to my door, and had left for his room without saying a word to me. To say it disturbed me was an understatement. I had been so willing to go into his bed that night that I knew I would have begged for it, if it came to that.
