• “We never really talked about ourselves…you know…got to know each other.” I started, as we walked hand in hand, down the path that led to the lake. It was well into the evening, and from where we were, could see that the moon had cast a pretty glow over the lake, coupled with the low lights that lined the area. I had bought the property, with the lake being one of my main reasons. Even if I didn’t see it often, it was a satisfaction knowing it was there. And never had I brought a woman down there. Not even Mila. I hadn’t even thought of it once.
• Cara didn’t answer immediately, taking her time instead, and I let her. After all, with the circumstances with which we had met, it was even surprising we were now in the position we were. “I could say I know a lot about you, Adrian Nikalaou.” She said, looking straight ahead. “You are always gracing the news, every other day.” Her tone was a little bit humorous, making me roll my eyes, thankful she couldn’t see me.
