Chapter 10 Winter
- The first thing I do when Nath takes me to the hotel room is head straight for the bathroom. My clothes are still damp from when I fell into the pool earlier, and the thought alone makes my skin crawl. I’m a germaphobe, and chlorine mixed with whatever unholy cocktail of bacteria lurks in public water is my personal nightmare.
- My hair feels heavy, my skin prickly, and all I can think about is standing under a hot shower until I feel human again. After the day I’ve had, it feels like the only way to wipe the exhaustion from my body.
- My stomach is also growling like it’s auditioning for a horror movie, but food will have to wait. I’ve been through too much since arriving... too much running, too much humiliation, and apparently, too much betrayal, for me to eat before scrubbing my entire existence clean.
