Mist covered the entire ground, hiding our footprints from the eyes of our enemies, as we moved with the discretion of predators on the hunt. The darkness was thick, and even with my keen night vision, I had to blink a few times to adapt: after all, the moonlight didn't penetrate the thick treetops.
