• The reality of what Pietro did stared at me. He wanted to frighten the hell out of me before he finally carried out his plans.
• There were chains dangling from the ceiling and from the wall of the room. There were about two racks with sets of whips and canes of different sizes on display. I had no idea whips came in different shapes and designs.
• There were whips like that of horses, ones that were twisted to form a thick twist, ones that were braided with their tips ending in fringe leather.
