• The touch of her tears woke him up from his trance. He blinked, suddenly realizing what he was doing and immediately unmounted her. As soon as she was set free, Amber quickly scrambled away, creating a distance between them and curled into a defensive ball near the bookshelves, pulling up her torn office blouse and tugging at the hem of her skirt. It was the outfit he had gifted her a few days prior. She wiped her tears in vain.
