Chapter 30

• Fabian stepped out of the bedroom, tucking his phone and wallet into his backpocket and caught sight of Amber standing alone in the living room. Behind her, sunlight beamed through the panelled windows, kissing her hair, giving the illusion that she was on fire – like a phoenix. A beautiful fiery phoenix. 
• He could see her blouse clinging onto her curves, even as she looked down, playing with her fingers. He wanted nothing more than to take her there and then at that moment, but pleasure had to wait. They would have all the time tonight. Plus he intended to surprise her with a new phone, seeing how old and chipped hers was. He wondered if she had bought it from some thrift store.
• ‘Redd?” he called out and she lifted her head to meet his gaze. There was a sparkle in her eyes as she flashed him a smile through her rose-tinted lips, “Yes?”
