Chapter 37

  • It was a cloudless night as Anson made his way to the alley where the murder of Vincent Rodriguez took place. The caution tape had been removed and the chalk outline of his body had long been washed off. The police were done gathering all the information that they needed from the site and it would only be a matter of time before they came for him. He needed to clear his name before then.
  • A quick look around him told Anson that the place was deserted, save for a furry brown kitten huddled in the damp and littered corner, calling out for its mother. He pulled at his slipping backpack and walked towards the spot where the man had been murdered, ignoring the scrawny little animal. Had he been blindfolded, Anson would still be able to make his way to the exact spot. The image of the dead man haunted him day and night giving him absolutely no rest.
