• “No, no, no! You’ve got to be kidding me,” Millicent groaned as she tried turning the ignition of her car for the umpteenth time, to no avail.
• She’d just finished work after staying late, only for her car to start acting up now that she was in a hurry to get home.
• Refusing to give up, she continued turning the ignition repeatedly. Finally, the car purred to life, but just when she was about to sigh with relief, it died again.
