- “Karen...what are you doing? Put your clothes back on.” Kris chided sternly despite his drunk voice as he looked away.
- Karen refused, stepping closer to him. “Kris, I can make you forget, I promise. I can make you feel better.”
- She took his face between her hands, trying to kiss him, but he shoved her away. Karen would’ve fallen if she hadn’t held on to the edge of the bed for support.
