• Katherine Cornell thought about it and nodded along. “Alright. I trust Mr. Hall won’t go back on his word. Then please take me home. It’s getting dark. If I don’t go back, my family will worry. I slipped out of the bidding meeting, after all. If I go home and give them a heads-up, I can go with you to find my mom.”
• Jayden’s face showed disappointment and loss. He asked sadly, “Kathy, I’m helping you find your mom. Can’t you at least have dinner with me? How long has it been since we sat down and had a proper meal together? I really miss that feeling.”
