• Alex pulled up in front of the bar, tilting his facecap low before stepping out of his vehicle. His long strides carried him across the road to the bar’s entrance.
• With his head bowed, he stepped inside, scanning the bar area for Michael. To his disappointment—and growing frustration—someone else was behind the counter.
