• I got into the car and shut the door with a firm click. Easing out of the driveway, I turned onto the road, heading toward The Basement. That’s what we called it: my home base for the things we didn’t discuss in polite company. It wasn’t just a hideout. It was where I handled my enemies. And right now, Ruby’s stalker was my biggest problem.
