• Arian held up Jedidiah's robe as the boy shifted back to human form. "How are you able to do that Jed. Most new lycans can't control their shift this quick. Some take years to be able to shift on demand."
• Hachi Glynis answered, "It is a gift from the earth spirit. She gave him the knowledge and skills of his forebearer. I do not know fully what else she imparted in my son. I believe it was more than just strength for this change."
• Jed quickly changed to human form under the robe and stood. "I don't care what she gave me, I am so hungry right now Mom. Whatever is ready even if it's made from cardboard." The room again erupted in laughter.
