Chapter 22 Chiara

• I touched my neck, which was vacant and unmarked for once. Adrian decided to be lenient and allowed me not to wear the silver choker so it wouldn't clash with my outfit. He had also been tame these past two days. The most he did was touch and kiss me. There were no punishments, even if I made mistakes. Moreover, praises and compliments became more common for him.
• While I was relieved for the respite, I couldn't help but wonder why Adrian was behaving this way. It wasn't simply in his nature to be this... forgiving. I had briefly experienced this side of him back when he was still trying to convince me to marry him.
• I was a fool, and now, I am afraid of making the same mistake again.
