• Devryck was not much of a conversationalist. As soon as he finished speaking, he left me with a multitude of questions that I had no answers to. He never uttered another word, regardless of what I said or the questions I posed to him. Eventually, I fell silent and allowed him to be alone with his thoughts, while he gazed out of the window for the remainder of the journey.
• If I thought the Alpha triplets were intimidating, I was mistaken; he was far more frightening. I became even more perplexed when he claimed that I was his mate. It was clear to me that he was concealing something, and I was willing to sacrifice everything within me to uncover the truth behind his secrecy.
