Chapter 78 Sharing a Bed

  • That night Serena entered Dorian’s room while the other was in the process of changing his clothes. Her heart rabbited in her chest as she looked at him, fidgeting with the hem of one of his t-shirts that she had become used to sleeping in at night. She didn’t know what led her to do this, but here she was and although she could give a lame excuse and run back to her room, she didn’t want that. After their mutual confession, she felt lighter. Her insecurities were no longer bubbling and simmering at the edge of her mind as if the confession had acted as a balm.
  • Dorian’s movement had ceased, however, when she averted her gaze, he put the t-shirt over his head hurriedly and then asked, “What….happened?” His voice came out a little raspy. He cursed in his mind for jumping to inappropriate conclusions. He was confused more than anything. “Did…something happen?” he asked when she remained silent. They had had a quiet dinner and also a loving one, she didn’t mention anything then.
  • His eyebrows furrowed. Without raising her head, she mumbled, “No.” He closed the small gap between them and gently grasped her shoulder.
