• I stared at the two women wondering what the fuck I had just heard them saying. Due to Caleb's mood, we left the office a bit early. But we couldn't get into the packhouse together as he had received a call from Carlos to attend to something urgent as regards the omega clan. He had left with a promise to return.
• Heading to the room, I was surprised that I couldn't find Becca, who would have come to welcome me as her usual routine. I didn't see Edwina, either. When I asked the maids if they had both gone out. No one saw them leaving the house, which meant they were around somewhere. I wheeled myself down to the study, knowing Edwina spends most of her spare time in it.
