• “You’re weak, and you are human, Sam,” she continued, her voice softening, but only slightly. “You’ve seen it, haven’t you? Beta doesn’t have what it takes to lead. He’s weak, and you know it. You’ve been left behind, and you’re starting to realize you’ll never get what you want from him.” She leaned in, her eyes locking onto mine, her voice barely a whisper. “I’m offering you something more.. Power.”
