Chapter 330 Must Have Been For Me

  • I wasn’t even sure if I was asking her or if I just needed to voice my questions out loud before it drove me insane. Sally didn’t reply to me, but she nodded her head before two drops of tears rolled down each side of her cheek. I gasped in shock when I finally got confirmation from her that she was indeed Sally, one of the girls from the orphanage where I had grown up. The reality of the situation finally sank in.
  • When I found out that I had been sold, I suspected Monica and our benefactor back at the orphanage of being responsible, but I did hold out some hope that something so tragic may not befall the other girls still living at the orphanage. The fact that Sally was here told me just how wrong I had been to hold out hope. Frankly, I must have been fooling myself all this time to make reality less harsh and more bearable. Deep down, I knew that I wasn’t the only one. All those girls that left for work before me and all those that were still too young to leave, one day they too would face a fate just like this.
  • “How can something like this happen to us?” I wailed as I started to openly cry.
