• I spent the entire morning with Delphine, and enjoying it came easily. She was the sweetest little thing effortlessly adorable in a way that softened everything around her. While we were here at Damien’s, she shared a room with Dominique, though back home they each had their own space. She chatted endlessly, her words tumbling over one another, most of them revolving around a boy from the Darkvale pack named Roland.
• When I teasingly asked if Roland was her boyfriend, fully expecting her to grow shy or flustered, she surprised me. Instead of embarrassment, she lifted her chin with confidence and declared that Roland was not only her boyfriend, but her future husband. She told me they were inseparable, that being away from him was the worst part of visiting.
