• Everyone watched in horror as I prepared to fight Jennifer for the challenge. I was not going to let her mess up this perfect pack and have my mate. I had seen the hatred in her eyes when she walked past other people. She felt like she owned the world, and a person like that leading the kingdom will be a disaster. Something else was pushing me but I didn't know what it was.
• "Why are you doing this Jennifer?" Damon's mum asked.
• " I am the strongest female in this pack and the best choice for a queen, even the elders acknowledged that. Not this human who doesn't even know anything about our kind. So why can't I challenge her?" She shrugged and I could hear growls from my back the loudest being that of Damon, but no one could do anything, it was up to me.
