Chapter 8 The Revealing
- At Lena's residence,
- It wasn't too big though there was a nice couch in the living room, pink coloured rug with a medium sized Hisense TV connected to a dish.
- A two bedroom nice apartment with a small kitchen just by the left while entering the living room, with a door painted pink.
- Drake surveyed the entire apartment in seconds like a detective entering a goons Den.
- “Humm Nice house you got here.” Drake mumbled. She blinked her eyes twice, eyes off Keira laid on the sofa trying to regain her breath. Facing him.
- “What should we do with her…”
- “You didn't respond to my good commentary about your apartment.” He replied with a dry smile.”
- “You okay?” She searched his face. He didn't give any sign and she sighed.
- “I said what should we do about her and why do you choose to bring her into my apartment?” She crossed her arms around her chest revealing the shape of her big sized breast.
- “Calm down okay…. I brought her in here cause this place is safe.” he whispered. “I need to question her, Kiera might know about the dome and we… are going to get the hell out of this.”
- “You haven't told me your mission here and your identity… why are you here…in Black Hollow?” She huffed and rolled her eyes inwardly.
- “Lena, that doesn't matter now we must find out what Kiera knows first before anything there's no time okay.” She didn't wait for further explanation from Drake and turned without a word.
- He followed her back into the living room where Kiera laid.
- “How are you feeling now?” she asked, her gaze locked on Kiera.
- “Better than before.” Kiera replied.
- “Alright…alright enough of all that sympathy just speak... What is your connection with the dome and what do you want me to know?.” His look turned into a dark one and he looked upset.
- Lena signals to Drake to stop being harsh.
- “It is fine, Dear let him be.” Kiera assured her.
- She coughed twice. Lena raced to get her a glass of water.
- Then she began.
- “We’re inside an alien construct and this Alien Dome is more dangerous than you can ever imagine.” She explained all about the Dome why it trapped the city in detail to Drake and Lena.
- “What about the egg I heard you say outside there?.” Drake asked, curious about the next reveal.
- Kiera's face pale, her expression darkening as she turned slowly to face him. Her eyes shimmered, not with fear but something far deeper… ancient and sacred.
- “The egg is a mystery,” she continued, her voice hushed like a prayer.
- “It holds the Alien King's true power, the vessel of rebirth, If it hatches... the King returns. Not as a creature but as an unstoppable force. An alien–human. Ruler of mind, body… and time.”
- Lena blinked, heart pounding.
- “But what’s that got to do with Black Hollow?”
- Kiera stepped closer, her breath sharp and trembling as she tried to balance her fit on the rug.
- “Everything. No one has ever dared to withhold it since the fall of the alien race centuries ago. It glows… it calls… hidden deep in the earth, where no light reaches.”
- She looked at them both.
- “That’s why it’s buried in the cave.”
- “A glowing alien egg in a cave? That sounds like a trap, not a relic.” Drake’s brows furrowed.
- “It is both.” Kiera’s voice grew colder now. Almost detached. “It’s a trap for those unchosen. For the rest… a calling.”
- Lena leaned forward, goosebumps trailing down her spine. “So who are the chosen?”
- Kiera smiled faintly, lips twitching.
- “Four must protect it. Four must awaken.”
- She exhaled, a shiver dancing across her shoulders.
- “You two… you’re already part of it. That’s why the dome didn’t kill you.”
- “You’re using us.”
- Drake’s tone was sharp now, stepping back slightly.
- “You dragged us into this mess for that damn egg.”
- “No,” she whispered, “The egg chose you.”
- Drake’s pulse pounded against his neck. Lena’s legs stiffened, frozen in place.
- Kiera’s body twitched suddenly. Her hand clutched her side then she looked up, eyes glowing faintly.
- “You must find the cave.”
- Drake's eyes widened, sweat dripping down his sleeves.“Can the egg stop this chaos and bring down this damn Alien Dome?” He asked, terrified.
- Kiera senses his intelligence and bravery.
- “Yes, if you can help find it.” She replied.
- “And how do we do that, you just mentioned how dangerous it is. Don't you?”
- Lena: “Do you believe this cryptic shit Drake? And this woman..? I can't believe you're such a character, she kept spitting lies about some Alien egg and you gave in” She hissed.
- “This might be our way out Lena.” Drake replied with urgency in his voice.
- “Are you helping her, helping her again now,? I guess you have a death wish Lena added rolling her eyes inwardly.
- “Oh so you cared about me?” Drake smiled weirdly.
- “Says the man acting like a Hero.” She interjected with a fake annoyance on her face.
- She has begun to develop interest in Drake. This might protect me if things go wrong, I must be wise this time and not lose this one. She whispered romantically in her mind. Drake lost in deep thought and wasn't watching.
- Kiera, “we must find that cave first.” She interrupted them both knowing fully well that Drake has that ability, anyways he saves her first from the hospital. He will find a way of taking her to the cave even though she wasn't sure Drake knew the way to the cave.
- “Hey buddy, look at me.” Drake faced Lena with emotions like affection wearing up his face. “Am gonna find this so called Alien egg and cave, whatever…and we will surely get out of this Alien Dome okay..?” His brow furrowed.
- When did he suddenly care about me? Lena smiles–blushing, forgetting about her investigation on Drake just yet. Not even about her father. She could feel some sort of affection stirring up in her, ‘Love?’ She wondered.
- He is cute and charming, and I am falling for this guy. She bit her lips romantically.
- “Then we have no time to waste.” Kiera interrupted, Lena jolted suddenly.
- The three moved out of Lena's apartment slamming the door behind, Drake's thought was the woods immediately flashing back in his mind, he saw a dark Cave just in the middle very deep in the woods, while he was searching for way out of the Alien Dome, his heart nearly jumped out of his mouth as he moved more deeper into the woods that day. His ears catching the strange eerie sound, the guilt of the dead debtor Mr. Richard, clinging to his chest like a mother holding her toddler real tight.
- He can't breathe…..“there must be a way out of this Dome somewhere and if this Egg of a thing is an alternative I must find it” he whispered coldly.
- “Look!!” Kiera exclaimed loud, pointing at the desk thick smoke that filled the air.
- “What!!” Drake stopped abruptly facing her pointing direction.
- “What the hell happened over there?” Lena exclaimed she looked bewildered and started to panic.
- “A fire must have lit up somewhere.” He replied.
