Chapter 10 Trembling With Fear

  • “I'm sorry, my daughter. I have failed you!”
  • Zoran was now in tears. Over the years, he had been working hard to return home successful.
  • Overseas, he was already a prominent figure, the lord of the Tartarus Syndicate, terrifying various forces.
  • However, in Clusia, his wife and daughter had suffered a lot.
  • “It's all my fault. I should have come back earlier!” Zoran blamed himself for a while, then panicked when he realized his daughter's temperature was off.
  • He swiftly took out his satellite phone and made a call.
  • “Athena, quickly notify them to bring the best doctor here. My daughter is running a fever.”
  • “Don Tartarus, I've already arranged everything. They should be arriving soon!” Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom of the Tartarus Syndicate, was indeed meticulous in her considerations.
  • always more thoughtful than Zoran.
  • Upon learning that Zoran was returning to Clusia to rescue his daughter, Athena had already made all the arrangements.
  • Just as Zoran ended the call, the roar of cars could be heard outside the courtyard.
  • However, it wasn't the Tartarus Syndicate who hastily arrived, but a group of patrol officers.
  • As soon as the captain of the patrol division got out of the car, he shouted, “Listen up, everyone inside! I am Felix Webb, the captain of the Jacaster Patrol Division. You are surrounded. Come out with your hands up!”
  • Zoran frowned slightly as he watched Felix and his men rush in.
  • The patrol division arrived pretty quickly!
  • Zoran looked coldly at the dozen or so members of the patrol division rushing in and snorted. “Captain Felix of the patrol team, right? Let me ask you, where were the patrol officers when my daughter was being persecuted?”
  • “You're a murderer. Surrender!”
  • Felix looked at Zoran as though the latter was a fool. “Kid, you better not mess around, or we'll shoot.”
  • After Felix finished speaking, several members of the patrol division immediately pulled out their guns and aimed at Zoran.
  • Zoran couldn't help but sneer, “Wow. I really don't know who gave you the courage to point guns at me. Do you know what the consequences will be?”
  • “What consequences? Ha, you better worry about yourself. Murdering is a capital offense.”
  • Felix's face darkened, and he said to his men, “Men, tie him up.”
  • Several of Felix's men immediately moved forward to tie Zoran up.
  • Just then, from behind them, a cold voice rang out, “You must have a death wish. Let me see who dares to lay a hand on my boss.”
  • Felix turned around, ready to lose his temper.
  • However, he saw a curvaceous woman donning a skeleton mask, aiming a rocket-propelled grenade at him.
  • This woman with the skeleton mask and a well-proportioned figure was none other than Isabella, the second Tartarus Guard under Tartarus.
  • Seeing the pitch-black muzzle of the cannon, Felix felt his heart sink. His body involuntarily trembled, nearly causing him to fall flat on his backside.
  • At this moment, Felix's throat was knotted, and the words that were about to come out of his mouth seemed to be stuck, unable to be spoken.
  • “D*mn it, you bunch of scum, how dare you treat Boss like this? Do you believe I'll blast you all into pieces right now?”
  • Barrett, the Hell's Envoy, appeared abruptly on the wall of the courtyard with the Vulcan cannon in his arms.
  • He was tall and sturdy, like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.
  • The six barrels of the Vulcan cannon in Barrett's hands quickly aimed at Felix and his men.
  • Seeing this, Felix and the others turned pale with fear, their calves trembling uncontrollably.
  • They were on the verge of losing control of their bladders.
  • The Vulcan cannon was a death god on the battlefield, its power was too great.
  • That wasn't all. In the next moment, a thunderous rumble echoed through the sky.
