Chapter 8 Who Are You?
- Peter
- "I don’t give a damn about your opinion! Get the hell out and check the tires!" I roared, slamming my fist against the dashboard.
- Michael flinched, his hands trembling as he fumbled with the door handle. Without a word, he stepped out into the eerie darkness of the deserted road. My fingers tapped impatiently on the steering wheel as I stared into the rearview mirror, watching his shadowy figure move around the car.
- Suddenly the wind outside carried the faint sound of rustling, snapping me out of my thoughts.
- “Michael, what’s going on out there?” I called, trying to mask the fear tightening my throat but my voice betrayed me.
- The silence that followed was deafening. My pulse quickened. Something wasn’t right.
- "It’s… nothing, sir," he finally replied, though his voice wavered.
- I sighed, rubbing my temples. "Nothing," I muttered under my breath. Trying so hard to assure myself that everything was fine. The call earlier must have being a prank. I can't believe I fell for it.
- When Michael climbed back into the car, his face was pale, beads of sweat clinging to his brow. He pressed a button, and to my shock, the passenger door unlocked.
- "What the hell are you doing?" I asked, confused."Why did you open the door?"
- "Because I asked him to" A lady replied entering into the car. I took a look at my driver who had beads of sweats all over his face and back to the lady who was glaring at me and grinning widely.
- "Who the hell are you? And what are you doing in my car?" I snapped.
- Her smile slowly disappeared. "I..I'm sorry sir. I have been your special admirer for a long time, I tried reaching out to you but you kept on ignoring me. So I had no choice than to meet you this way" She stuttered with her head slightly bowed.
- My brows furrowed in shock. "Really? I can't believe this" I scoffed. "And you Michael, how could you open my doors to a stranger without my permission?" I growled.
- "B..because..s..she..threa.." He tried to say but the strange lady cut him short.
- "Don't be angry with him sir. I'm really sorry for all the inconveniences I might have caused you. At least I have got the opportunity to come this close to you and I'm satisfied. I'll leave now " She forced a smile and turned to leave but I stopped her.
- Today had been a very tough one and I can't let go of this beautiful opportunity to have fun and relieve some stress.
- "Wait. There's no need for that, you can stay.."
- " Really? Thank you" She said excitedly.
- She seemed so happy like someone who had just won a lottery and I couldn't help but wonder how desperate she had been yearning to be with me. I know I'm handsome but I didn't know that someone could go to such length such as stalking just to get to me. Well since this is what she wants, I will give it to her.
- "Michael, I'm no longer going to the hospital. Drive us down to my special hotel" I said to my driver.
- "What? But I thought you were supposed to go see the doctor?" He exclaimed.
- "We can go there later but first, I want to go spend some time with this pretty lady"
- "Okay sir" He nodded positively, turned on the car's engine again and drove off.
- I took a glance at the lady. She had a sculpted figure which was twine - thinned. Her waist was tapered and she had a burnished complexion. She had a brown eyes and her red hair tumbled over her shoulders. A pair of archered eyebrows looked down on sweeping eyelashes.
- Such a beautiful lady, the universe must be happy with me today.
- "What's your name?"
- "I'm Nina sir" A set of dazzling angel-white teeth gleamed as she spoke.
- "Don't call me sir! Mr peters will do" I softly cautioned.
- "Okay sir..uhm. I mean Peters" She stuttered and I burst out laughing. She's not only sexy but also naive..
- "I love your curves" I said, smiling mischievously.
- "Thanks" she replied blushing.
- "Has anyone told you your smile could make a man lose his mind?" I said and she burst out laughing.
- "Are you flirting with me?" She whispered, flapping her eyelids and biting her lip simultaneously.
- "Maybe," I said, leaning in closer to kiss her but she drew her head backwards.
- "What's wrong?" I frowned.
- "I'm shy" Her expression shifted subtly, her smile turning coy.
- I raised my eyebrows. "You're shy?" I asked, struggling so hard not to laugh.
- She nodded positively. "But if only you can close your eyes, I'll freely kiss you" She grinned.
- I hesitated, then shrugged. "Why not?"
- I closed my eyes, expecting the brush of her lips. Instead, a damp cloth pressed against my face, and the sickly-sweet smell of chemicals filled my nose.
- My eyes snapped open, but it was too late. The edges of my vision blurred, and my limbs grew heavy. I grabbed my forehead as I forced myself not to blank out. "W..what have you done to me?" I slurred, my voice weak.
- Her smirk was the last thing I saw before darkness swallowed me whole.
- Cold water splashed against my face, jolting me awake. I gasped, coughing as I blinked against the harsh light.
- "Good, you’re up," Nina said, her tone light, almost playful.
- I looked around, my head pounding. The room was familiar; luxurious, with a view of the city skyline. Louis Hotel.
- "How… how did I get here?" I asked, my voice rough.
- "You brought us here, remember?" she said with a smile. "Well, technically, your driver did."
- "Michael," I growled, anger flaring. "That traitor—"
- "Don’t be too harsh on him," she interrupted, her tone mockingly sweet. "What should he have done when I had threatened to kill his precious daughter?"
- I drew my head backwards surprised, who is she?. I looked down at my legs and I realized it wasn't tied. Did she forget to tie me or was it a deliberate action?.
- "You’re wondering if you can escape," she said, her smile widening as though she could read my mind. "You can try, if you’d like. But I wouldn’t recommend it."
- "Who the heck are you?" I yelled.
