- I sat on the couch a few inches away from the bed, my elbows resting on my knees as I watched her sleep. She looked so different now; so still, so quiet. It was unsettling. The lady I knew, the one who had the nerve to steal my car and argue with me while bleeding was anything but fragile. And yet, here she was, fast asleep, her chest rising and falling steadily and her face free of its usual defiance. Who would have thought that the fierce tigress could look this… fragile?
