Chapter 5 She Is Mine

  • Jeff was so shocked when he heard her. Brother? Did Finn Daniels have a sister?
  • But he sighed in relief. At least he was her brother and not her boyfriend. He smiled. “Oh, nice to meet you, President Daniels. I'm Jeffrey Morgan. I just didn't know that Jojo had a brother.“
  • Finn shrugged. “I also didn't know that she had male friends,” he said and looked at Jojo meaningfully.
  • Jojo could only ignore them. She didn't know why they seemed to hate each other. Did they know each other before?
  • “Um, since you are already here, why don't you join us?“ Jojo asked Jeff. After all, they had so much food. “The food is too much for the two of us.“
  • Finn wasn't happy that she was inviting another man to dine with them. However, he didn't say anything.
  • “I won't stand on ceremonial then,” Jeff said and took a seat. He had wanted this chance to eat with her. He couldn't turn it down.
  • Finn rolled his eyes and concentrated on his food. Suddenly, he didn't like it so much as before.
  • “Um, have some more pork, Jojo. This is always your favorite,” Jeff said, and he put a piece of pork on her plate. Jojo smiled happily.
  • However, Finn creased his brows, his face turning dark. He looked at Jeff again, this time with unhidden animosity. 'Hey, are you always serving food for my girl? She is mine! She only belongs to me!'
  • Jojo was just about to scoop the piece of pork when Finn beat her to it. He picked it up from her plate and looked at it. “Is it really that great?“ He asked.
  • And before anyone could answer him, he had put it in his mouth.
  • Jojo gasped. “Finn, you have an allergy for that…”
  • However, the man was chewing on the piece of meat graciously. She blinked her eyes as she looked at him. It's been five years. Maybe he is no longer allergic to it.'
  • Jeff wasn't stupid. He sensed that Finn wasn't very welcoming. He just didn't understand why.
  • “So, are the two of you real siblings or stepsiblings?" He asked, trying to get more information.
  • No one from Country A didn't know about the Daniels. Why hadn't he heard about them having a daughter? Maybe Jojo was unlegitimate, right?
  • “Um… we…” Jojo struggled to explain. Their situation was difficult to understand.
  • However, Finn dropped his chopsticks and looked at Jeff. “You seem to be very free. I heard that your dad's company had done problems.“
  • Jeff coughed awkwardly. “Yes, there was a problem. But it is already taken care of,” he said.
  • Finn nodded coldly. “Oh, right! No wonder you have a lot of free time,” he said sarcastically. And Jeff froze a little.
  • It was obvious that Finn didn't love him. And for some reason, he felt like his words were a threat. Finn was capable of doing anything.
  • He decided not to stay longer so that he wouldn't get in trouble. He would try to understand where he went wrong later.
  • “Um, I think I have something to do. Let's talk later,” he said and stood up. He pecked Jojo on the cheek before walking away.
  • For a long time, Finn didn't say anything. He just stared at Jojo's cheek where she had been kissed.
  • Jojo wasn't sure why he seemed unhappy. “What was all that, Brother? He has been taking care of me all this time. You have to be nice to him,” she explained.
  • Finn just felt more unhappy that she was taking Jeff's side. He didn't say anything yet. He promised himself to teach Jeff a lesson some time.
  • “Are you alright, Finn?“ Jojo asked worriedly. Why wasn't he speaking anymore?
  • Finn sighed. “So do you enjoy it?“ He asked, his expression filled with jealousy.
  • Jojo shrugged. “Enjoy what?“ She asked. She didn't know why something felt off.
  • “The kiss, of course,” Finn said. “Does he kiss you often? How well do you two know each other?“
  • “Finn?“ Jojo called in embarrassment. “Why are you asking all that? He is just my friend.“
  • Finn didn't seem to believe it. He took some tissues and passed them to her. “Clean it,” he said. He didn't like the idea of another man's saliva being on her face.
  • Jojo was still confused. “Clean what?“ She asked him. Was something wrong with Finn?
  • Finn was getting impatient. He leaned closer and began wiping her cheek. “His kiss. Don't just allow any man to kiss you. Saliva contains some bacteria that could be harmful to your skin."
  • Jojo could only sigh inwardly. Was he becoming the overprotective big brother he always was in the past?
  • When she was a teenager, he didn't allow her to get any letters from any boys. He wouldn't even let her go out with them. She chuckled when she thought about it.
  • Finn stopped cleaning her chin briefly and looked at her. “Do you like this a lot?“ He asked. “I'm serious about it.“
  • “I know, Big Brother... Ouch! That's hurts,” she cried out when Finn used more force on her cheek.
  • Finn scoffed. “You seemed to enjoy the kiss a lot,” he said. “You have to bear with the pain.“
  • He only stopped when he felt he had cleaned enough and threw that tissue in the trash can. “Jojo, men and women should keep their distance. I don't think he is a very good man.“
  • For the years that she was away, he had never thought that she would get so close to another man. What if she was in love with Jeff?
  • He quickly shook his head. 'No! I won't let that happen. Jojo can only be Finn's. She is my little princess.'
  • Jojo opened her eyes wide. “What are you talking about, Brother? You don't have to worry about Jeff. He is a good man. Everyone on campus wants to be his friend.“
  • Finn rolled his eyes. “Just be good and stay away from him. I can tell that his intentions aren't very good.“
  • “But…”
  • "No, but, honey. You have to listen to me, okay?“ Finn said, feeling a little mad. How much had she bonded with that man?
