Chapter 5

  • —Oh! —Don't be a prude, girlfriend. —Open the door— —God knows how many cobwebs you've got down there for not using it.
  • —Daughter of a...
  • —See ya, girlfriend!
  • She guffaws as she walks out and closes the door, leaving me alone. Unable to help myself, I laugh as I negatively shake my head to the side, seeing that my friend is hopeless. She's a hopeless case. I'll talk to her later, of course, if I can reach her tomorrow, which will be impossible, since she turns off her cell phone so that no one interrupts her. I finish getting ready and I have my things packed. I take them to leave the house. I barely get out of the room and almost collide with a couple who are so drunk that they are leaning on each other.
  • —Oh... s—sorry, I—I thought... there was no one there," the young man stammers because of the alcohol.
  • —You can take it.
  • I step aside to let them in.
  • —Thank you, miss.
  • You're both too drunk. Besides, I can tell they've just met and will only have a passing night of sex, though the way they were talking and moving, it won't come to that. I continue on my way. As I walk, I put on my wireless headphones. I stop my steps when I hear a familiar voice, too much, I would say. Every time I hear it, it causes me irritation.
  • —Admit it, Gabriel. —Hearing another man's voice gets my attention. You like me, you can't deny it. Remember that night of sex we had? —Did I mishear you? Admit it.
  • —Get away from me! —I never had anything with you. I'm a man in every way!
  • I decide to take a look to find out what's going on in there. It will be very interesting, I can even use it to my advantage to annoy Gabriel. The best thing is that he is present to magnify the moment. I open the door a little and try to see inside to locate them, but everything is dark, until a small light appears from the window. I manage to locate Gabriel without him noticing.
  • —I won't accept it! I won't accept it! —growls the boy on the other end. You know what? I'll tell everyone what happened between us. Your precious family name will be tarnished forever.
  • —I swear I'll kill you, you bastard! —says Gabriel between stammering and tries to stand up, but it's impossible.
  • The boy approaches him and then places his hands on his chest while he moves his fingers up and down.
  • I am more than surprised by what I see and hear. The so important and proud Gabriel Hoffman fucked with another man. This is my chance. I pull out my cell phone and record everything. The guy comes on to him and then kisses him. I sketch a huge smile at having this evidence in my hands. This is a gold mine for a lot of people, including me. With this video I will be able to ruin him, even his blessed prestige as a tycoon that he cares so much about. This will really be a bombshell for the Hoffman family; the family's adored firstborn is entangled with a man. All in all, I have to take advantage of this situation, I must get something out of it.
  • —Wow, Gabriel, I didn't know you were like me," I tease as I walk in. I can't believe you're gay.
  • —You too? —His face loses its natural color when he sees me— —It's not true... This is all I was missing —he mumbles with difficulty—. Go away, you don't have...
  • —If I were you, I'd shut my mouth Gabriel —I warn—. See that this scene is very compromising for you.
  • The boy who is stalking him, seeing himself cornered, throws himself out of the window.
  • I panic at the thought of him killing himself, given that we are on the second floor. I run to the window to see his corpse, but as I look for him I only catch a glimpse of him getting lost in the crowd as he runs. I sigh with relief. The stupid thing he did didn't go any further.
  • I look Gabriel up and down. In effect, that boy drugged him without him realizing it.
  • —What are you waiting for to take a bath? Or do you want me to do it for you too? —I try to contain my mockery.
  • When I see him enter what looks like a bathroom, I put on my headphones so I can distract my mind a little. I wait for him to come out of the shower. I close my eyes and concentrate on the music. This is none of my business and I shouldn't be here. I stop pondering as I keep in mind that he is my enemy and let the music carry me away. I don't know how long I lie in the same position, until I feel a couple of drops of water falling on my face.
  • I stop my feet in time to the music.
  • Our eyes never leave each other's gaze for a moment. Her blonde hair is now darker from getting it wet, her skin is dripping with water droplets, because it didn't dry as it should, and her eyes as blue as the sea are fixed on my lips.
  • —Can you take it off?
  • —No," he mumbles, "You'll tell me right now what you want to keep your mouth shut," he whispers close to my lips.
  • —So straight to the point, huh?
  • He keeps looking at my lips.
  • His breathing gets faster with every second we spend in the same position; him on top of me and me underneath his body. I wonder if he's attracted to me. From the look on his face and the way he feels, I'm beginning to think he is.
  • —What do you want? —He asks again and brushes his lips against mine.
  • I reciprocate as if I want to taste him.
  • I don't know what's wrong with me.
  • He tempts me to continue the touching and I urge him not to stop.
  • I take the courage not to fall into his arms and speak:
  • —First of all, get off, because no matter how hard you try I'm not going to fall for your games.
  • —Are you sure? —I hesitate when he smiles, "Don't you want to continue?
  • She shows the lust in her eyes, but when she sees that I am serious, she moves away from me, stands up again and settles on the sofa. In the meantime, she dries her hair with a towel.
  • —Well? —She questions normally. What do you want?
  • I have to ask him.
  • —Are you gay? —I answer bluntly.
  • —No!" he answers instantly.
  • —Then what were you doing...?
  • —It's none of your business," he replies.
  • —Well. —I grab my stuff. Watch the news tomorrow, you'll see the video I shot of you and that very amorous boy half an hour ago.
  • —Wait!
  • I stop my steps in front of the door and keep silent to hear what I want to hear from his lips. I know he won't let me walk away knowing that I will be able to make a fool of him in front of many.
  • —Let's talk, shall we?
  • I close the door and put my things on the floor, turn around and position myself in front of him. My closeness makes him very nervous, or maybe it's because I'm in such a compromising situation with that boy.
