• It’s been five long days since the attempted abduction, and in all honesty, I was starting to feel like a caged bird. Marcel had turned into my personal bodyguard-slash-housekeeper, adamant about me not stepping outside the house for any reason. He handled everything—from the groceries to school runs, even picking up shampoo when I ran out. He said it was all for my safety, and I understood that, I really did.
