• “I demand this girl be expelled,” she snapped at the principal. “This wasn’t a normal scuffle between kids—Andrew is hospitalized. He’s in pain, and you want me to accept an apology from a monster?”
• “Don’t you dare call my daughter a monster,” I said sharply, my voice calm but steely. “I understand your son is hurt, and I’m truly sorry for that. But Evelyn said she was defending her friend. She was being bullied and she reacted. She didn’t mean to cause any harm.”
