- I paced the sitting room, occasionally looking out through the window whenever I heard sounds. It had been close to an hour since Mark left, and 30 minutes since 10 of his men drove off, but there had been no sign of them.
- I realized there was something wrong when I saw Mark hastening to his car an hour ago. His expression said it all. I couldn't help the fear I felt at the thought of anything happening to Kenzo, because I perceived he was the only one who could make Mark look so worried.
