Chapter 8 Makeover

  • "You are such a mislead."
  • "And you? What about you? Who is keeping his parents in the dark." She asked, looking at her reflection in the mirror, combing her hair. "I told you, it's a selfish purpose."
  • "Okay." She shrugged. "Your room is magnificent." She complimented, looking around. "But empty." He said, laying back. "Like your love life." She joked which irked him.
  • Red was about to walk out of the room but Lucifer called, "Where are you going?"
  • "To my room, where else?"
  • "We have to share the room today." He said, sitting up. "No thanks. I will wait for your parents to sleep and then go to my room." She smiled and picked a magazine on the coffee table, taking a seat on the couch.
  • "Just make sure no one sees you." He muttered. "Okay..."
  • Lucifer was using his phone, they ignored each other's presence but then Lucifer called her, "Red..."
  • "Hmm?"
  • "I guess you don't have any lover that you are not caring about."
  • "For your kind information, Dear husband. I am Iris. Meddle in Iris life. Red's life is none of your concern." She replied coldly. "And yeah, after creating my identity. Don't forget a few things."
  • "Like?"
  • "Like..." She closed the magazine and looked at him, "I need a phone, a laptop. A credit card linked with your bank account." She smiled. "There are things we still have to discuss."
  • "We will. I am tired now, let's take a look into it after preparing a contract." Lucifer said, yawning.
  • "Hmm. Okay then. Good Night, Mr Lucifer Grave. I hope these 365 days will be memorable.. At least for me." She stood up and left.
  • •~~•~~•
  • Toast to the new Rising Couple! Unexpectedly coming to the surface- shocking everyone to no extent with an abrupt but grand presence of the Graves owner- Lucifer Grave and his wife Iris Grave.
  • With endless blessings to see Mr Grave in a relationship after being a mysterious figure. His marriage was staggering but we wholeheartedly congratulate the couple for their new beginning
  • Their love story is still vague and a tale between them but people are eager to know what stole Mr Grave's heart which was concealed all this time.
  • Red told the headline of the news to Lucifer who was having his coffee peacefully. She laughed and shook her head, "Ah... I never thought this is how my name would come in the headlines.
  • "It's not you." He said, calmly. "I need to tell my mother that I am alive." Red sighed, staring at her food. "You can't. A year and you will be free to go to her." Lucifer said, taking a sip.
  • "Can you imagine a parent's pain when their child goes missing and they wait for it every moment, hoping one day it will come back. Not knowing if their kid is alive or not?" Red asked. "Since when do you feel compassion?" He asked.
  • "I was ten when my father died. Mama told me he went on a long journey. I.. waited for him for the next five years, fighting everyone who dared to say he was dead. Hoping one day he will come back from his long journey but guess what- he never did and I never believed it until I saw his grave." Red said in a croaked voice, smiling sadly. Lucifer stopped and spared a glance at her. "And you prayed to God to take your everything but return him to you, didn't you?" He asked as if he could feel and understand her pain. She smiled widely and nodded, wiping the tear which pricked in the corner of her eye.
  • "Call it emotional blackmail, I wouldn't mind but at least let me talk to her once." He sighed and shook his head, "Just once. The things you asked for are in your room. Your ID card, passport, credit card. Some appropriate clothes, a phone and laptop. Everything. And the marriage papers, sign them with the signature on the ID card."He explained. Her face lit up in happiness, she got up, gave him a hug, "Thanks." She smiled and ran to her room before he could say something.
  • She quickly went to the room, everything was present there, she smiled widely and took her phone. She was about to dial her Mother's number but stopped. Lot of things roamed in her mind. If she calls her, Mrs Bennet will know the call is from England, increasing her stress. It could give rise to threats. Truly wanting her worried mother to tell her everything, not being able to bear it anymore as her moment of fighting with her bullies came to her mind, who constantly told her: Your father is dead.
  • Taking a deep breath, she called her Mother. She picked the call, voice broken and painful, "Hello?"
  • "Don't ask how I got here. What is happening? I just want to inform you that there is no need to worry about me." Red said.
  • "Red? Red! My love, how are you? I was so worried about you." Mrs Bennet began to cry. "Mama. Don't cry. Just listen to what I am about to tell you-"
  • "How can I not cry!? You were missing for a month, my chest burns every moment for you!"
  • "I know... That's why listen. Don't tell anyone I called you. Red is kidnapped. She is."
  • "But-"
  • "Please do what I am telling you. I will be back in a year, I won't call you again. Just wanted to tell you I am absolutely fine, doin' great."
  • "Red... Please be safe."
  • "I will be. Just promise me you will forget I called you and wait for me."
  • "O-Okay... I heard your voice and know you are fine. I don't want anything else."
  • "I will tell you everything when I come back. Take care." She was about to cut the call but her door knocked, "Red." Lucifer's voice came. "What?"
  • "If you are done, come Downstairs. We need to leave and get you fixed."
  • "Okay." She replied, She put the phone back to her ear, "I will be back in a year. Don't worry about me, Love you and Bertha. Bye." And with it, Red cut the call.
  • Grabbing her stuff and getting ready. She took the papers in her hands. Oh God, This is it but it doesn't matter, this person is not me. She thought and signed the paper and went with Lucifer, giving him the papers. "Here you go. I signed them. Where are we going?"
  • "To get you a makeover." He said. "I won't cut my hair." She stopped, gathering her long raven hairs on her shoulder, "I even took great care of them. They are perfectly smooth, shiny and thick. I have spent dollars on them." She said, "Okay... just trim it a bit."
  • "Just a little." She pouted. "Let the artists do their work."
  • "As long as they don't cut my hair..."
  • "Okay. Can we leave now?" She nodded and they left.
