Chapter 7 Mislead

  • "Please don't go, Iris. I can't live without you. I will do whatever you say but please stay with me. This hollow heart of mine needs you, to guide my path and take me out from darkness... Please don't leave me.." He even began to sob softly, snuggling to her neck.
  • "Aw. I love you too." She whispered, suppressing her laugh. "Shut up." He whispered back and continued to sob. She swallowed hard and turned to him, burying her face in his chest,
  • "Lucifer... Please don't neglect me. I can't take it anymore. Please tell the world what I am to you, or else I will die from suffocation without you in my life. You are my breath, Lucifer." Red cried, holding his shirt. He embraced her, hugging her close.
  • "What if I tickle you now?" Red asked playfully. "I will kill you." He hissed, tightening his grip over her. "H-Hey. Loosen your grip." She said, holding his shirt tightly and unintentionally digging her nails on his chest.
  • "Stop digging your nails on my chest." He whispered. Still acting as a sad couple.
  • "Lucifer..." Mrs Grave called her. They both stopped and pulled away slowly with tears streaming down their faces. The couple looked at them with heartache, lowering their heads. "Mom... Dad..." Lucifer called them in a croaky voice. "Lucifer.. Who is she?" Mr Grave asked. Red held Lucifer's hands and looked at him desperately, "Please tell everyone the truth, Lucifer."
  • "There's no point in hiding it anymore... Mom, Dad. She is Iris. Iris Grave... My wife." Lucifer told his parents. Mrs Grave almost faint when she heard about it.
  • "Oh my God. Lucifer, why didn't you tell us?" Mrs Grave said, looking at Red and Lucifer and repeating it like a loop.
  • "Please forgive me for hiding it. Come with me, we will tell you everything." Lucifer said, leaving with Red and his parents and Harry stood there not believing what a fake show he saw. As if his eyes burned in acid, he went blank. Couldn't believe the person showing such emotions and speaking these things is his Grim Reaper Boss.
  • They all sat down, Red sat closely to Lucifer as they both held hands, still making a dolorous face. "Son, why didn't you tell us before? It's not like we would be against this marriage." Mr Grave asked.
  • "It was my choice to hide our marriage, Mr Grave. I was scared..." Red said sadly. "But why?"
  • "I was a waitress. My status was lower than yours, I don't want to be known as a gold-digger. I tried to hide our bond but couldn't... I couldn't take it anymore. Being his wife but still not being able to call him mine." Red began to cry again. Lucifer pulled her close, "Shh.. love, it's okay. Don't cry." Lucifer whispered. "Witch." he added.
  • "Continue the story, idiot." She hissed.
  • "A-And... when she wanted to make it public.. I was looking for the right time to tell you guys which was today. But Re- Iris couldn't take it and came. She was so infuriated that she brought divorce papers. Right, Harry?" Lucifer turned to Harry who has left the world by now by deception.
  • "Harry. Tell them." Lucifer said, glaring at him. "Huh? Ah, Yes. Yes. Mrs Grave wanted me to bring them." Harry nodded.
  • "But." Lucifer passed her a smile and kissed her hand, "How can the thought of leaving the love of my life ever cross my mind and we sort it out." They smiled and turned to Mr and Mrs Grave.
  • "But... you said why are you here, when you came. What does that mean?" Mrs Grave asked. "I meant to say, why am I not living here. Lucifer gifted me an apartment and I don't want to live there. I mean, Why am I there when I can be with you." Red made up a quick excuse.
  • "Oh my Son. You love her and that matters to us. It's all about heart, not money or status." Mrs Grave quickly hugged their son and daughter in law. "We are sorry." Lucifer said sincerely.
  • "There's no need to be. Nothing elates us more than the joy of our son." Mr Grave said and gave his blessing to the couple as well.
  • "I am so happy. We were really worried about your love life but it seems like you have found your partner." Mrs Grave grinned, holding Red. "Yes."
  • "Thank you..." Red smiled. "Oh you're the daughter of our family."
  • "Welcome to the family, Iris." Mr Grave laughed. The scene made Red feel bad for the couple who were exhilarated by the news.
  • Lucifer cleared his throat and after a sweet family moment, he said, "Now, will you excuse us, Father. It's late. Can we talk in the morning?" Lucifer decently asked. "Of course. In a sense it would be your first night. You guys stay here, Ava gets the girls and comes with me."
  • "Mom, no-"
  • "Oh hush. You guys stay here, I will be back soon." Mrs Grave left excitedly to decorate the room of the 'Newlywed.'
  • "How long have you been married?" Mr Grave asked. "A few months." Lucifer shrugged.
  • "Six. To be exact." Red said. "Ah women, never forgetting what happened when." Mr Grave giggled.
  • Later, Mrs Grave came with a grin, "I wish I could have seen you being a bride but I can at least do it for you."
  • "Your acceptance was enough for me. You don't have to do more." Red smiled politely. "Ah, don't act like a stranger. Lucifer. Go, take your bride."
  • Lucifer nodded hesitantly and took Red with him, slightly nervous.
  • They entered his massive and beautifully adorned room. They quickly pulled away from each other and looked at each other and broke out a peal of laughter. "God, woman you are unbelievable." he laughed, plopping on the bed. "Ah, thank you." Red smirked, pushing her hairs behind her shoulder.
  • "Hmm.. So what do you think, dear husband? Wanna consummate our marriage?" Red asked playfully, taking the flowers used to decorate the room in her hand and crushing them. "In your dreams." He retorted. "But seriously... you are my breath, Lucifer. I thought you were some innocent girl but your mind and acting is quite admirable." Lucifer laughed, repeating her words followed by hers. Lucifer gradually stopped laughing and sat up, shaking his head, "You are such a mislead."
