Chapter 38 The Shrew & The Angel
- Dante actually stood up for Victoria in front of the media, shielding her publicly, and that infuriated Lola to the point of nearly exploding. But, as this was a public event, she had to maintain the appearance of having no connection to Dante. Her fists clenched tightly, but she held back from intervening.
- Dante remained calm, exuding grace and poise as he spoke: “Ladies and gentlemen, you are all adults. I think you’re being a bit harsh on this young woman. This is a charitable art exhibition, not a commercial event. The theme is a showcase of my late wife Natalia’s works and a charity auction. No one is benefiting from this commercially.”
- “Victoria has always had a deep interest in art, and it’s only natural for her to attend the final exhibition of the works of a designer she admires. As you can see, she came fully covered up with a hat, clearly not seeking to be recognized or to use this event for self-promotion. I understand that the press likes to dig into gossip, but I ask that, for the sake of my wife’s legacy, you refrain from making this more than it is. Thank you.”
