• Alice was on her back by the swimming pool, she had her sunglasses on to shade her from the bright sun that threatened to blister her skin. She was trying to tan herself as quickly as possible; she didn’t want to look like a pale high-schooler anymore. She was going to leave for college in ten days time which meant that she needed to look the part. Her pale baby pink skin and her small frame added to her girlish looks, she looked like a petite teenager even though she had recently celebrated her nineteenth birthday.
