Chapter 4 Chapter four

  • Dave POV
  • I'm so happy I've found something else to do as my job. And Mr Charles? His just such a nice man. He even offered to buy me some clothes.
  • "Thank you so much sir." I said and entered his car.
  • I sure hope this job doesn't require much of brain work. I'm not that educated. I stopped going to school the moment my father died. And I didn't get a chance to enter the university of my dreams.
  • "So, what's your shoe size?" He asked me.
  • "I've not really paid attention to that." I replied.
  • He must have noticed my exceedingly worn out shoes. I started feeling like I wouldn't stand a chance in getting that job. After all, I can't keep wearing just one set of clothes and people there won't notice.
  • We reached a big shop and he tells me to come down from the car and I did.
  • "I'm going to park my car. I'll be back in a minute." He said.
  • I stood there in astonishment staring at the building.
  • Mr Charles cane back .
  • "This is a boutique." He said and I nodded.
  • We went into the boutique and my jaws dropped. Everything was so shiny and new.
  • "Hello Charles." I heard a man say.
  • "Hello my good friend." Mr Charles replied.
  • "It's been a long time since you've stepped foot in this place. It's almost as if you've forgotten about me." The man said.
  • "You know I can't forget you my friend. It's just that work has got me occupied." Mr Charles replied.
  • "Ha ha. If you say so. Who is this with you?" The man asked Mr Charles.
  • "Oh. I almost forgot. This is Dave. He is the new errand boy I got for my boss." He replied to the man.
  • "Well well well. I don't really know how to put this but he certainly doesn't look presentable." The man said.
  • "That's why I'm here." Mr Charles replied.
  • "No worries. I'll fix him up in a jiffy." The man said.
  • "Dave. This is Mr Francis. He is going to handle your clothes." Mr Charles said to me.
  • "Okay sir." I replied.
  • "Come this way." Mr Francis said and I followed from behind.
  • We came into a different room.
  • "This is where people try out clothes." He said and I nodded.
  • He took a designer shirt and a black jeans from the hangers and gave them to me.
  • "Go behind those curtains and change." He said.
  • I went behind the curtains and took off my shirt. I felt like someone was watching me. I turned around immediately and looked.
  • It was a blonde haired girl. She looks around my age but I'm sure I'm a bit older.
  • I immediately covered my body.
  • "What are you doing here?!" I yelled.
  • The girl smiled at me and turned away.
  • "You have a nice body shape." She said and left.
  • That girl is crazy. How can she feel comfortable walking into a guy like that. She even smiled.
  • "What's going on in there?" Mr Francis asked.
  • "Nothing sir. I'm almost done." I said.
  • "Hurry up. Mr Charles is in a hurry." He said.
  • I rushed into the shirt and the black jeans and came out.
  • "Perfect fit." He said.
  • Mr Francis then stood up and started taking a lot of clothes from their hangers.
  • "What is he doing?" I wondered as I watched.
  • He finished what he was doing and we came out of the room.
  • "Good as new. You are the best Francis." Mr Charles said.
  • "No problem." Mr Francis replied.
  • Mr Francis put all the clothes in a sack and gives it to me. I collected it.
  • It was probably part of my job to carry his things for him.
  • Mr Charles paid the man for everything and we went back into his car and continued to the company.
  • "Those are your new clothes." He said.
  • I definitely didn't expect this.
  • "Sir, I can't thank you enough. You are really doing a lot for me." I said.
  • "Don't mention it." He replied.
  • We finally reached his office and went straight to his boss's office.
  • His boss looks very angry.
  • Adams POV
  • "I just don't know what to do with that boy." I said in anger.
  • I feel so frustrated. Just imagine sending someone to deliver a package to receptionist and he hasn't come back to tell me anything.
  • I just need a replacement as soon as possible so I can fire that idiot.
  • "Good morning sir." I heard my secretary, Mr Charles, say.
  • "What's good about the morning? Have you done what I asked you to do?" I asked.
  • "Yes sir. I have. This is the new errand boy." Charles said.
  • "Good morning sir." The boy greeted.
  • I ignored his greeting. I'm just not in a good mood to exchange pleasantries with anyone at all.
  • "Are you sure he can deliver?" I asked Charles.
  • "Yes sir." Charles said.
  • "Okay. I will like to test him right away." I said and then turned to the boy.
  • "Take this." I said, handing over a document containing the directions around the office.
  • He takes the papers from my hand and reads through them. He also went through the blueprint of the building which is also attached.
  • "Now give them back to me." I said to n the boy.
  • He gives the papers back and stood as he was.
  • "Go and tell the person on table thirty seven to bring the documents I requested for yesterday." I said.
  • "There isn't a table thirty seven sir. The workers here have their own table but it is labeled with two letters and one number." He said.
  • I was very impressed. Despite giving him those documents just to confuse him he still passed.
  • "Impressive. How did you know?" I asked.
  • "I saw it that way on my way here." He replied.
  • "He is very good at observing things." I said to Charles.
  • "Yes sir." Charles replied.
  • "You are hired." I said to the boy.
  • "Thank you sir." He replied.
  • "By the way, what's your name?" I asked.
  • "Dave." He replied.
  • "You are welcome here." I told him.
  • "You may leave. Charles will explain everything you need to know." I said and they both leave.
