Chapter 10 Stay Down

• The next thing I heard was the shattering of the glass railing right where we had been standing. Killian didn’t make a sound, but I could feel his body tense against me violently.
• Before I could even process the sound of the gunshot, Killian moved. He swept me off my feet effortlessly, keeping his broad chest firmly between me and the opposite skyscraper. In three long, aggressive strides, we were behind a massive concrete pillar near the roof's maintenance door.
• He slammed his back against the pillar, pinning me safely beneath him.
