• I couldn’t believe it. After everything I had done to be here with Emerson, after all the times I had listened to his complaints about Raven and supported him through his frustrations, now he was brushing me off as if I didn’t matter. He was growing distant, more focused on the company and, it seemed, on trying to fix his crumbling marriage. It was infuriating.
