Well the day Wayne was invited to threat Obadiah he had seen that there is nothing he can do to help wake him up, just that his ego will not let him admit defeat, moreover on that day Lucas was there and not wanting to be disgraced by Lucas, he had used another means to force a sleeping Obadiah to wake up, and that was how Obadiah became a menace destroying everything on its path, luckily there was Lucas there who quickly calm everything down.
