• She wiped the tears from her face she didn’t realize they were there all this time before Charleigh walked in. “I’m so sorry, Charleigh. I’d take the blame for my father.”
• What she wasn’t expecting from Charleigh was to pull her into a hug when she thought she would receive the hardest slap of the century. Instead, she found Charleigh rubbing her arms after their quick hug. “I know your father didn’t mean to hit my brother.”
